Baños!!!! (The city not the bathroom!) Day 2

We woke up to a beautiful view of the city.and a wonderful breakfast on the roof.

Then it was off to white water rafting.
First we had to learn the comands and what to do. Of course they used me to explain how to rescue someone from the water.. but it was a great picture opportunity.

First we did a bit of cliff jumping. About 80 feet up and absolutely terrifying and amazing at the same time.

Then the rapids. And yes we are on the amazon river. how many people can say that they rafted and swam in the Amazon?

After dinner we took a chiva (Kind of Harry Potter Knight bus that is all open and crazy party lights!)

We had a great View of the town at night but could not see the volcano because of all of the clouds.

Baños!!!! (The city not the bathroom!) Day 1

So because of Thanksgiving we got Friday off. yes only Friday not Thursday at all? So we decided to take an adventure to Baños.
On the 3 hour bus ride with Maggie
When we got there we needed some food obviously so we went to Bla Bla. great sandwich shop. And ver cheep my sandwich was 2 bucks and it was huge!!! And they had some great posters on the walls!

The first day we played Ultimate Mario Cart. We rented Dune Buggies and explored the outskirts of town looking at all of the magnificent waterfalls and wildlife.

The waterfalls were beautiful. And I realized that my camera takes amazing pictures! We even got to See an condor (the national bird that is now endangered).

We had dinner at la Vaca (the cow!) We also had some great live entertainment from an Andes village in Peru.
Then it was Party time! we went to this little bar that played English pop music and we all rocked out with our girly drinks and pretended we knew every word!
Then it was bed time. And our beds were pretty comfortable. Katy too the liberty to make sure the boys and the girls had separate rooms..... ;) But the sounds from the town were so loud. 500 rosters crowing and car alarms all night long!

But we still had a great time!

Cotopaxi

We started the day with breakfast! we went to this really cute place El cafe de las vaca- cow restaurant. I had the Desayuno de la Vaca (cow breakfast). They start with freshly squeezed fruit juice. we all got a different flavor, and bread. On our bread we have choices of butter, cheese, milk throft, or fresh blackberry jam. The the main course comes. It was like an egg casserole. So weird but so yummy with hot coco made with fresh cows milk.  If you know me then you know breakfast is my favorite meal.. so I was in heaven!

Cotopaxi is a volcano near the south end of Quito. It name means "piece of the moon". It is almost a perfect volcano in shape. Especially when compared to its neighbor volcano that looks like a smashed hotdog!
We entered the national park. It only cost 2 dollars and we had to drive on horrible roads that almost broke the car.

We stooped at the small lake that is in between 2 volcanoes. Beautiful!

We then move towards to volcano! Very majestic!

We found a soothing stream that had many little waterfalls!
